My name is Sherri (McGerty) Taormina and I am highly qualified to teach grades six through twelve in mathematics and health. I attended Wayne State University on a full academic scholarship for my undergraduate degree. I am currently a graduate student at Michigan State University. I will be graduating in May 2012.
Since January of 2007, I have been teaching students at Lake Shore High School in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan. I have taught a variety of courses: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Probability and Statistics, ACT Prep, and various support labs. However, I predominantly teach Geometry, which is my favorite! Another big part of my life is cheerleading. I enjoyed cheerleading so much as an athlete, I could not give it up. I started coaching competitive cheer almost right out of high school and have never stopped since! I coached at my alma mater, as well as another local high school, but I am so happy with the most recent opportunity that was offered to me to start a competitive cheer program at Lake Shore High School, where I have been teaching! Outside of teaching and coaching, I also enjoy crafts and scrapbooking, spoiling my Boston Terrier, Lily, and spending time with my family and friends. This past July, I was married to the love of my life! July must be our lucky month because we are expecting our first child this coming July! We have another busy and exciting summer ahead of us! |
